Method 1: Open as a Separate Tab

Use this method when you want to focus strictly on the shared mailbox in its own tab without cluttering your main inbox view.

1. Click your profile Manager icon:

Click on your profile picture or initials icon located at the top-right corner of the Outlook Web interface.

2. Select 'Open another mailbox':

In the dropdown menu that appears, click Open another mailbox....

3. Enter mailbox address & open:

Type the email address or display name of the shared mailbox into the dialogue box, select it from the list, and click Open. A new browser tab will load with the shared mailbox interface.

Method 2: Open in Same Tab

Use this method to keep the shared mailbox persistently docked under your primary account folders on the left panel.

1. Locate your primary account folder:

In the left-hand navigation pane, find Folders or right-click directly on your account's email address / primary folder name.

2. Open context menu:

Click the three dots (...) next to your folder name or right-click your account name to bring up the action menu.

3. Select 'Add shared folder or mailbox':

Click Add shared folder or mailbox from the context menu list.

4. Search and add:

Type the name or email address of the shared mailbox in the pop-up box, select the correct account from the dropdown, and click Add.

To verify this step succeeded, scroll down the left folder pane—the shared account should now appear as an expandable folder below your main account folders.
